Lasting Timeless Beauty Versus Cost. Cost will usually be a factor in deciding which style of lamp you choose. Tiffany Table Lamps are more expensive simply because of their style size and design. Prices can range from as low as $100 and go up to $600 to $1000. The median range for these table lamps are between $250 and $500. Tiffany Accent Lamps are less expensive but by no means less elegant or beautiful. Prices can range from as low as $80 and go up to $400 to $600. The median range for Tiffany Accent Table Lamps are between $150 to $300.
Crystal Table Lamp. A crystal table lamp can be the centerpiece of not only your table but the whole room as well. There are so many designs that you can choose from - a modern design antique design or even the retro look. While not terribly popular yet some manufacturers also make battery powered table lamps to help save energy. I have done some extensive research at my favorite online retailer - Amazon.com - and picked out some of my favorite table lamps that I would like to show.
Second ask yourself where you plan to use the lamp. If you plan to light a big room with an undecorated wall a small lamp may feel unnecessarily tiny. A tall lamp may be more appropriate. Of course if you would like to place a lamp on top of a bookcase in your study a small lamp may work perfectly. Third ask yourself if you can live with a particular lamp style over time. Some lamps are distinctive and may look interesting in a store. However oddly-shaped or with protruding angles some lamps` unique style can quickly wear out their welcome. Remember you will see it every day. If you grow tired of looking at it the lamp is likely not doing its job. Take the time to consider how you will feel about your lamp 5 years from now.
Lighting Needs: Identify the function of the lamp in terms of lighting needs. Is the lamp`s purpose to provide general area (also called ambient) reading or accent lighting? Wattage: If there are other light sources in the room a 60 watt bulb may provide enough light for a living room. However if only using one or two lamps to light up an entire room it may be best to invest in a 100 to 150 watt bulb or a 3-way bulb. This also gives sufficient light for reading. A reading lamp should offer 150 or more watts. In general rooms should have a light source every 10 feet or so.
